West Wilts Eventers Dressage

We had an early start today with ESCAPE ROUTE, DIAMOND HOLLY, and PRIMITIVE WARRIOR on the lorry for an unaffiliated dressage day. This was my first tests with all of them as they are new rides for this season, and it was also ESCAPE ROUTE’s and WARRIOR’s first ever time in the white boards of a competition arena.

DIAMOND HOLLY was up first and behaved really well, just about managing to curb her enthusiasm. We certainly have plenty to work on but overall I was really pleased with our first outing together. ESCAPE ROUTE was very jolly in the warm up and added in some very exciting moves but settled beautifully in the ring to produce a very respectable first attempt – he even managed to win his section! He was very wobbly in places but I am very excited for his future. I am just a stand in jockey for PRIMITIVE WARRIOR as I am just working on his for his normal rider Sarah, he behaved impeccably throughout and scored 71%  to finish in 7th place.

Overall a really productive day, there is still plenty of work to do and the season is almost here!
