WELLINGTON

It was quite a tough weekend at Wellington as I flew back from Millstreet to ride directly after losing Amazing VIII at Millstreet but thanks to our incredible team Charlotte was able to stay in Ireland and bring the lorry home with Jeremy and Dani got everything ready back in England.

On day 1 I rode CLASS SPEC in the 5yo class where he produced another smart test to score 30 and jump another immaculate double clear. He has become so consistent but sadly has missed out on qualifying for Osberton so will now head to his first NOV as his next event and finish the season ahead of an exciting year next year.

Day 2 I rode VARDAGS SARATOGA in the 8/9yo Advanced. She produced some fabulous moments in the dressage with the flying changes being a real highlight. A few moments of tension crept in in the walk and canter half pass but for her the 1 days are a real challenge as for the more advanced work it really helps to have time to settle her over a couple of days. She jumped absolutely brilliantly in the SJ giving me an incredible feel, she is such a special and tough jumper we are so lucky to have her. She then gave me a great spin XC but sadly over jumped into a combination and we had to turn a circle and cross our tracks. Totally rider error and otherwise she jumped a class round and set us up really well for Blenheim in a few weeks time.
