Pontispool

It was a familiar drive down to Pontispool for me as I grew up only about 20 minutes from the event. I haven’t been back in quite a while as there always seems to be a diary clash somewhere so it was really lovely to see how the place has developed.

I was riding BAYANO in the OI and DIAMOND HOLLY in her first Intermediate. Bayano was just having a fun run before his final big one of the season at Pau CCI****. He was much better in the dressage and let me in much more in the arena scoring 27.5 to lead his section. He then jumped a lovely double clear making it all feel very easy. He loves the top of the ground so had I had a really fun ride and he felt like he was bursting with confidence and ready for the big challenge in a few weeks time.

DIAMOND HOLLY has been a work in progress in the dressage but has come on leaps and bounds and I couldn’t have been more pleased with her first test at Intermediate level. She had plenty of green mistakes and areas to improve but I was thrilled with her score of 27 – She then jumped a lovely round SJ just rolling a pole but otherwise feeling great at super confident. We decided against running her XC as the ground was a little firm for her tastes, but I can’t wait for her to step up to this level next season.
