Nunney and Catton Park

Nunney was a slightly mixed event for us – VIVENDI de VARDAG (Viva) was competing in the BE1005yo qualifier and DIAMOND HOLLY (Princess) in the Nov. Viva is still green on the flat so scored a fair mark of 34, she rolled a pole SJ at a very spooky combination but stormed round a tough cross-country giving me an incredible feel. I had planned to run her slowly as not in a competitive position but she covers the ground so well she still ended up inside the time. She has such a wonderful heart and is so incredibly brave she is a very promising for the future, a big thank you to her owner Ayesha Vardag for entrusting me with such a gorgeous young horse.

Princess sadly had a day to forget with a very uncharacteristic dressage mark and pole down before I pulled her up XC. back to the drawing board for her!

The following day we had an early start and headed up to Catton with ESCAPE ROUTE (Spike) in the BE1005yo qualifier. He was lovely on the flat but frustratingly not rewarded with the greatest mare scoring 33. He jumped a lovely double clear inside the time finishing just outside the ribbons in the 11th. He has been so ultra consistent so far this season – massive thank you to his owner Isobel Crosbie for all her patience and support.
