We had another wonderful few days at the 2017 Monart Sale in Ireland. Held at Monart Equestrian centre and the destination Monart Spa it has become a firm yearly tradition which we thoroughly enjoy. The hotel is stunning and its always lovely to be able to relax for a few days with friends at the same time as looking for some exciting young horses.
This year our wonderful owner and loyal supported Isobel Crosbie was looking for a young horse so we were very excited to see what we could find. We looked at a number of nice prospects but in the end found the beautiful 2013 gelding ESCAPE ROUTE by full thoroughbred Green Desert out of a Voltaire mare – to be known as Spike! We are absolutely thrilled to have found such a quality and athletic horse and can’t wait to get cracking with him in 2018.
We also found the most stunning 2014 gelding CLASS SPEC to bring home as another very exciting project. Specs is by the dutch stallion Vanvcouver out of a Harlequin du Carel mare. He had been beautifully produced for the sale by Katherine Charlton from Class Event horses.
Both boys have settled in really well, we will crack on and get Specs broken in whilst Spike enjoys a holiday with Isobel. I am really looking forwards to getting them out in the Young Horse classes next year.
