A really productive few days at Hartpury Equine Events

in the CCI****S Rebecca Salt and Caroline Harris’s BAYANO was a touch cheeky in the dressage and so was a little off the pace with a 31.5 but redeemed himself with a fantastic double clear giving me a great feel and staying super straight and rideable everywhere. We didn’t burn round given the conditions but we had a great run which will have set him up nicely for Mlilstreet in a couple of weeks time.

Sarah Hughes’s MY LUCKY DAY was in the CCI3*L, our first 3-day as a combination. He stayed very consistent in the dressage to score a 38 which is a solid score for him at this stage especially given his dressage was held in the spooky indoor! The XC was running very late so we didn’t head out until nearly 7pm and the course had caused problems everywhere. Lucky was incredible yet again and gave me a class ride coming home easily inside the time to move up to 9th overnight. He sailed through the trot up on Sunday morning but sadly got caught in the very worst of the weather and picked up 8 faults in the showjumping. A real shame as he really felt fabulous all week but I feel we are still getting to know each other and building up our partnership together. He finished in 16th and out 4* qualification is now complete!

Thank you so much to our whole team for all their help during a busy week – Charlotte had the boys looking incredible all week and had a seriously long day on Saturday; and Gemma and Dani were amazing as ever holding the fort at home.
