Burgham is one of our favourite events so its certainly worth the long drive. I was riding Ayesha Vardags’s VARDAGS SARATOGA and Caroline Harris’s AMAZING VIII in the CIC** and Isobel Crosbie’s ESCAPE ROUTE in the BE1005yo.

ESCAPE ROUTE was an absolute star throughout the whole show jumping a beautiful double clear following a stunning 27 dressage. He gave me a dream ride XC, such an exciting horse for the future. He finished in 6th place just narrowly missing out on qualifying.

AMAZING VIII scored 33 on the flat, just breathed on the very first fence and then cruised round the XC for a steady clear feeling like she’d never been away. She will now head to Millstreet for her return to advanced level.

VARDAGS SARATOGA was an absolute star, she was a little green on the flat with it being her 2nd attempt at this level, but still scored a very respectable 34. She then jumped the most beautiful double clear, making both tracks feel ridiculously easy. The show jumping caused considerable trouble and she just popped round not breathing on anything. The XC had plenty of questions also and she grew in confidence the whole way around, we are very very excited about her!
